5 DIY Ideas to Make Christmas 2018 One to Remember

We don’t know about you, but we’ve been searching the internet for Christmas decorating inspiration for a couple of weeks now.

This holiday is one that’s centred around family, friends and food. So, no matter how big or small your celebrations, nothing screams “festive season” more than a well decorated Christmas table.

Not convinced you can achieve that Pinterest-perfect look? Not to worry, the next best thing is to get some DIY decorating into the mix.

Here are five great ideas that will really set your Christmas table apart from the host of Christmas past.

Make your own Christmas snow globe Image: Pinterest

This is a fun one and it’s a great way to bring a touch of that White Christmas feel to our warm Aussie summer.

What you will need for this:

  • A glass jar or vase (you can pick these up cheap from your local $2 shop)
  • Your snow (we recommend you use table salt or shredded white paper)
  • A selection of ornaments

You can really make this your own so have some fun with it. It all starts with placing your “snow” in the bottom of the vase and then adding your ornaments. It will create the perfect centrepiece of your Christmas table.

Get creative with your candlesImage: Pinterest

Do you plan on setting the mood for your Christmas dinner with candle light? Don’t just settle for plain candles. There is something simple and easy you can do to set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable Christmas dinner.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Candles (choose different shapes and sizes to suit your table!)
  • Cinnamon sticks (you can pick these up from your local grocery store)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Twine or ribbon for wrapping

It’s as simple as taking to your cinnamon sticks with your hot glue gun and attaching them to the outer edge of your candles. Then add the twine or ribbon as a final touch (and to help hold it all together)!

Don’t they look great!

Showcase your awesome (new) napkin folding skills

There really is no limit to your creativity, even when it comes to napkin folding. How you present your napkins can set the tone for your Christmas table setting. So if you’re willing to get a little adventurous, we’re sure you will find the perfect fold to “wrap up” your Christmas table look!
